IKA HOOPS

The Ika Hoop features a unique symbol to the Samoan, Marquesan and Hawaiian traditions which represent the fish. Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa (the Pacific Ocean) has provided sustenance and provision for generations of navigators and settler groups. The richness of the ocean made it possible for people to voyage the sea for long periods of time. The Ika (fish) symbol represents abundance and prosperity.
