Hei Matau / Fish Hook 

The Jade Hei Matau Necklace is shaped like a stylised fishhook and symbolises strength, prosperity, fertility, and good luck. According to Maori legend, Maui was able to catch a great fish using only a woven line and a hook made from his grandmother's jawbone, giving the Hei Matau a special significance in terms of safe travel over water.
